Head coach
of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has confirmed that captain John Mikel Obi
sustained a hand injury, during their 2-0 win over Iceland on Friday.
However, Rohr expects
him to feature against Argentina in the last Group D fixture, even if it means
he wears a cast.
“We will be ready for the game against Argentina. Unfortunately there is one injury in the team. Our captain, John Mikel Obi fractured his hand against Iceland but he can play with a cast. The medical team have done a good job on him.
“Aside him, everyone is fit. We are preparing for the next game. We will do everything to prepare the team in the best possible way
Nigeria only need to avoid defeat against Argentina, to qualify for the round of 16.
