The Prince of Wales revealed his
plans for when he is King during a visit to the smog covered capital of India, New Delhi.
He was quizzed by a group of
schoolchildren today, when one nine-year-old pupil asked: “When you become
King, will you build a fort?”
The Prince then replied: “I will!”.
The kids laughed at Charles’
response before he clarified he actually has no serious plans for a
fort-building when he takes over the Queen as King.
But despite the joke, it does come
after reports in the summer which suggested the Prince doesn’t want to move to Buckingham Palace.
Yet when Daily Star Online contacted
the Royal household for comment, a spokeswoman told us: “Buckingham Palace is
and will remain the official London residence of the monarch.”
The Prince and Camilla are due to
return to the UK today following a Commonwealth tour which ended in New Delhi.
In his last engagement before flying
home in time for Remembrance Sunday, a jovial Charles delivered a speech in
which he showed off his impressive knowledge of Urdu.
He referred to his wife as
“darling”, telling an audience: “I cannot tell you how delighted my mehaboobaa
and I are to be back in India, a country that is so very special to us both.”
