Actor Cuba Gooding Jr. Arrested on groping allegations

American actor Cuba Gooding Jnr arrested on Thursday for allegedly groping a clubgoer after a night of drinking at a rooftop bar in Midtown, according to police.
The “Jerry Maguire” Oscar winner was charged with one count of misdemeanor forcible touching after sitting down with NYPD sex-crimes detectives.
Gooding stepped out of a dark SUV in front of Manhattan’s Special Victims Division base on East 123rd Street just after 2 p.m.
Decked out in a dark suit, Gooding said nothing as he walked into the cop shop, but smiled and waved to a throng of media awaiting his arrival.
Gooding’s arrest comes as his attorney, Mark J. Heller, insisted that video of the actor’s Sunday night jaunt to the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge in Midtown shows he did nothing wrong.
“An extensive review of the available video taken that evening reveals that there was absolutely no criminal conduct and inappropriate conduct on the part of Cuba Gooding Jr., and it completely exonerates him from any criminal conduct,” the high-profile lawyer said Thursday.
Gooding is expected to be arraigned late Thursday in Manhattan criminal court.
The Bronx-born actor, 51, allegedly grabbed the breast of a 30-year-old patron as she passed him a glass of water to help him sober up after a night of partying at the Seventh Avenue bar, cops and police sources have said.
