After much buildup and anticipation, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
went public on Friday with the name of their littlest one. Newborn
Chicago, born January 15, joins 2-year-old Saint and 4-year-old North to
create a family of five.
Little Chi is their second daughter, and lest there be any confusion, Kim retweeted
someone who explained just how to pronounce the name: "And to everyone
who thinks it's literally pronounced as CHI. No. It's 'Shy,'" she wrote.
The name holds particular significance for Kanye, who was born in Atlanta but raised in Chicago.
An
announcement on Kim's app revealed that Chicago -- Chi for short -- was
born at 12:47 AM, weighing 7 lbs 6 oz. Chi was born via surrogate, and
Kim has been quite vocal about her appreciation for the woman who
carried her baby: "Our gestational carrier gave us the greatest gift one
could give," she wrote .
Next up in the delivery room is expected to be Kylie Jenner, who has
yet to officially confirm her pregnancy, and then Khloe Kardashian,
who's expecting her own first child.
It's going to be a big year for the Kardashian-Jenners!
