A former staff of First Nazarret
Nigeria Limited Anthony Oladejo-Adeola who allegedly diverted 13 trailer
loads of Dangote Cement worth N23.4million, was yesterday arraigned before an
Igbosere High Court.
The defendant who is facing a
four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, diversion, stealing and preferred
against him by Lagos State, was docked before Justice Sybil Nwaka.
The prosecutor, told the court that
the defendant conspired with others who are still at large to commit the
alleged offenses.
She said that the incident occurred
on March 29, 2011.
The prosecutor said that
Oladejo-Adeola while he was a staff of first Nazarret Nigeria Ltd, did
diverted 13 trailer loads of Dangote Cement valued N23.4million, for his
personal use.
The prosecutor further stated that
the offense committed is punishable under Section 419, Cap C17, of the criminal
law of Lagos State 2011.
Oladejo however pleaded not guilty
to the charges against him.
His counsel M. A Oyebanji urged the
court to allow him to continue to enjoy the bail he was earlier granted.
The judge granted her request and
adjourned the case till May 5,2018 for trial.
