A group of armed robbers on Friday,
November 10, stormed Iyana-Iba market in Ojo local government area of Lagos,
robbing traders and passers-by. The robbers reportedly carted away phones and
other valuables from roadside traders. The robbers attacked the traders and
passers-by on Friday afternoon, shooting into the air as they beat up those who
refused to part with their valuables
One of the witnesses who spoke with
Premium Times correspondents said: "We noticed everybody was running and I
ran too. The thief passed by, kicked at the glasses and took away the phones."
Some of the affected traders also complained that the military operatives
stationed at the Iyana-Iba roundabout did not come to the people's aide during
the robbery.
