Algeria Star and Leicester City
Midfielder Riyad Mahrez has been crowned
the 2016 CAF African footballer of the year ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
and Saido Mane.
Mahrez was named Africa's top player
at the 2016 Glo/CAF awards gala that was held in Abuja on Thursday, January 5.
The award is coming on the heels of the
Algerian playmaker winning the BBC African Footballer of the Year award.
Mahrez led Leicester City to Premier
League glory and won the English Players' Player of the Year award.
Gabon international Aubameyang was
named second best while Senegal's Mane came third.
