Petition to stop Donald Trump’s state visit smashes 100,000 target in just a few hours

A petition to stop Donald Trump’s state visit that was started Sunday morning has already smashed its target.
The petition was launched to say the US president should be allowed to visit the UK as a head of state, but that he shouldn’t have the full trappings of a state visit.

It was started this morning by Graham Guest and within a few hours it reached the target of 100,000 signatures. Any petition that reaches that landmark figure will be considered for debate in Parliament.
Anger against Trump has grown over the weekend after he signed an executive order preventing citizens from seven mostly-Muslim countries from entering the US.
However, the petition is aimed at trumps ‘misogyny and vulgarity’, saying his behaviour disqualifies him from being received by Her Majesty the Queen or the Prince of Wales.
