Everton have announced the signing
of Nigerian born English player Ademola Olajade Lookman from Charlton Athletic.
Ademola Lookman formalized his transfer to Premier League side
Everton this week.
The
19-year-old who is eligible to play for Nigeria is also an England U-19
international
The Englishman who is also eligible
to play for Nigeria signs for the Blues on a four-and-a-half year deal for an
initial £7.5m in a deal with add-ons rising to £11m.
The England Under-20 forward made
his foray into Charlton’s first-team midway through last season and is known
for his direct running. His contract runs till June 2021 and has been handed
the No 31 shirt.

player,” the 19-year-old. “As soon as I
heard about Everton’s interest I knew this would be the right place for me.
“Everton has a big history and I was
also attracted by the manager. When you look at what he did at Southampton, and
what he does with young players in terms of developing them, that was a big
attraction.
“It was great playing in the
Championship last season and for the last six months in League One but I feel
like I’m ready to make the step up to the Premier League.”
Lookman will be competing with the
likes of Aaron Lennon, Gerrard Deulofeu, Kevin Mirallas and the injured Yannick
Bolasie for a spot on the wings.
